Education

I have followed my education at the Aachen University of Technology (RWTH) in Aachen, Germany. Electrical engineering, with as specialisation technical computer science. My master thesis I have performed at the École Nationale Supériere des Télécommunications (ENST) in Paris, France. Both are considered to belong to the prominent institutions of Europe.

Aachen University of Technology

The Aachen University of Technology was founded in 1870. With 26500 students and 260 institutes and faculties, it is one of the largest technically oriented universities of Europe. Because of this vast number of possibilities, the Aachen University of Technology is the scientific centre of the Euregio Aachen-Maasticht-Liège. In a survey conducted under university professors in Germany, performed by the renowned magazine ‘Stern', about the quality of the subject electrical engineering, they elected the Aachen University of Technology as number one.

ENST Paris

The École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST) is one of France's leading graduate engineering schools and is considered the school in the field of Information Technologies. Its disciplines include all the sciences and techniques that fall within the term "Information and Communications": Computer Science Networks, Communications, Electronics, Signal and Image Processing, as well as the study of economic and social aspects associated with modern technology. Master Thesis

I have performed my master thesis at the department for signal and image processing (TSI) of the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST) in Paris, France. My thesis was part of a project in the area of medical computer science, in which several universities and scientific institutions in France participated. It dealt with 3D image processing of MRI scans from human brains. My task was the extraction of the cortical surface and the morphological separation of both hemispheres. The report, in English, containing an elaborate description of the project, the used methods and the scientific justification, is available here.
